Nanwakolas Council Society is a First Nations alliance that supports member Nations and staff in capacity building and in advancing land and marine stewardship, economic development, and reconciliation initiatives within their respective territories. The Council works to build government to government relationships, negotiate collaborative agreements, and support Nation led decision making in resource management and economic opportunities.
Wei Wai Kum First Nation is a member Nation of Nanwakolas Council. Through this partnership, Wei Wai Kum works alongside other member Nations to strengthen regional stewardship, advance shared interests, and increase capacity in areas such as environmental management, forestry, fisheries, and major project negotiations.
Nanwakolas provides technical, strategic, and administrative support to its member Nations while respecting that each Nation retains its own authority, governance structures, and decision making processes. Wei Wai Kum participates in Nanwakolas initiatives where they align with the Nation’s Strategic Plan, Land Code, and stewardship responsibilities, ensuring that collaboration enhances, rather than replaces, Wei Wai Kum’s inherent jurisdiction and rights.
