Social Development

The Social Development Program supports the overall well-being of Wei Wai Kum members by delivering services that strengthen individuals, families, and the broader community. The program focuses on providing practical assistance, advocacy, and community-based supports that respond to member needs in a respectful and culturally grounded way.

The program administers Income Assistance for eligible members living on IR 11 and supports individuals in applying for Persons with Disabilities designation and related benefits.

In addition to direct services, the Social Development Program designs and delivers workshops and community events that aim to reduce violence, promote healthy lifestyles, enhance employability, and support cultural healing and connection.
