Funding may cover tuition, books, and required supplies such as tools or specialized clothing for both part time and full-time students. Full-time students may also be eligible to receive a living allowance to help offset training related expenses.
Applications are accepted throughout the year. To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a registered member of Wei Wai Kum First Nation
- Have resided in Canada for the past 12 months
- Be accepted into an occupational training program that is less than one academic year in length
- Be enrolled in a program that leads to an industry recognized certificate upon completion
Applicants enrolled in programs that are one academic year or longer should apply through the Post-Secondary Education program.
Occupational skills funding is intended to supplement financial assistance from other agencies, with the exception of scholarship awards. Scholarships earned through competitive processes are considered incentive income and do not reduce or affect eligibility for this funding.
